Signs of Problem Gaming

Most people who develop a harmful relationship with gaming do not notice it happening. The shift is gradual. The following signs are worth taking seriously — in yourself or in someone you know:

Behavioural signs:

  • Spending more time or money on gaming than originally planned
  • Returning to play immediately after a loss to try to recover funds
  • Lying to family or friends about how much time or money is being spent
  • Neglecting work, studies, or relationships because of gaming
  • Feeling restless or irritable when unable to play
  • Borrowing money specifically to fund gaming activity

Emotional signs:

  • Using gaming as the primary way to cope with stress, anxiety, or unhappiness
  • Feeling guilt or shame after a gaming session
  • Believing that a “big win” is always just around the corner
  • Continuing to play despite knowing the impact is negative

Tools Available to EK7 Players

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly, or monthly deposit cap from your account settings. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits are accepted until the limit period resets — or until you modify it (which requires a 24-hour cooling-off period before any increase takes effect).

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration. When the timer expires, you will be automatically logged out. This is particularly useful for late-night sessions or high-intensity tournament play.

Reality Checks

Enable periodic reminders showing your session duration and net result. These pop-up prompts appear at intervals you choose (every 30, 60, or 90 minutes) to give you a clear picture of how long you have been playing and what the outcome has been.

Cool-Off Period

If you feel you need a short break, you can set a cool-off period of 1, 7, 14, or 30 days. During this time, your account remains open but deposits and gameplay are disabled. The cool-off period cannot be reversed once activated.

Self-Exclusion

If you believe your gaming has become a serious problem, self-exclusion is the most definitive tool available. EK7 offers self-exclusion periods of:

  • 3 months
  • 6 months
  • 1 year
  • Indefinite (permanent)

During self-exclusion:

  • Your account is suspended
  • You cannot deposit, play, or receive promotional communications
  • Your account cannot be reopened before the exclusion period ends
  • For indefinite exclusion, reinstatement requires a 6-month waiting period and a formal review

We will process self-exclusion requests within 24 hours. No questions will be asked and no attempt will be made to change your decision.

Protecting Others — Minor Protection

EK7 is an 18+ platform. If you share a device with a minor, we strongly recommend:

  • Keeping your EK7 login credentials private
  • Enabling device-level screen time restrictions for shared devices
  • Logging out of the EK7 app after every session

If you believe a minor has accessed an EK7 account, contact support immediately.

Managing Your Finances Around Gaming

A few principles worth keeping in mind:

  • Set a budget before you play, not during. Decide in advance what you are willing to spend for the month and use deposit limits to enforce it.
  • Never play with borrowed money or funds intended for essential expenses (rent, bills, food, EMIs).
  • Keep a record of your gaming activity. The EK7 transaction history under Profile → Account History gives a complete log of every deposit, withdrawal, and wager.
  • Gaming winnings are not income. Do not factor them into your financial planning.
